Yesterday, Mommy shoved me into the PTU and made me go to the v-e-t. Dr. Nguyenba is very nice, but he’s still a v-e-t and I am a c-a-t (That spells cat). Meow, meow, meow!
They took my blood pressure and did a brief echocardiogram (so they could check my hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy). Can you believe they shaved my armpits again? Meow, meow, meow!
I like to fuss at the v-e-t people.
Good news! I have been taking 1/4 atenolol twice a day since October. So far: my heart rate is slower, my blood pressure is lower, the heart murmur is now a 2 instead of a 3, I now have a mild left ventricle obstruction instead of a moderate to severe one, my right ventricle now has no obstruction instead of a mild one, and I now have trace mitral regurgitation instead of mild.
So far so good!
So then I go home and my brothers won’t stop smelling me. Riley did at least help me clean my armpits, but Kesey was no help at all!

Tiki, that’s awesome news! Not only is the medication controlling the condition but it’s making it get better. I am so glad to hear that.

that is excellent news! excellent! worth a trip to the v-e-t, i think.
riley had to go back to the v-e-t yesterday to have his mouth looked at, since it’s two weeks since his tooth extraction and they wanted to see if it was healing properly.
but riley being riley, he absolutely refused to open his mouth. they sent him home again and did not charge for the visit.

I’m sorry that you had to get your armpits shaved. But we are super glad that the medicine is doing what it’s supposed to.

Oh! We are so happy you are doing well, even if they did have to shave your armpit. That’s one of the downfalls of having beautiful fur sadly. Keep getting better!!! Yay!

Is the atenolol the only medication you’re taking? I’ll have to look that up.
I’m on Furosemide and Benazequil (I think that’s right).
That’s wonderful about you improving! They were going to shave me if they couldn’t get a reading, but it turns out they didn’t need to …
